The following details were accomplished by spraying paint into the caps of the cans and dipping in the artists brushes to apply. Small spots of Maui Blue were added to Gary & Cindy. I applied them randomly to several of the small bumps that were part of the hammered metal. More Deep Blue was added to Gary’s back and Gloss Black for the pupils of the eyes was added. The larger pupils gave the appearance of a more friendly Brontosaurus. You can decide what looks best. After all beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Stone Grey was used for the toe claws and Hammered Grey was used to provide more detail. After experimenting with a couple of different detailed designs, I decided I liked just the outline with the Hammered Grey. Again, sometimes less is more.
After allowing a couple of days for the paint to set on all these additional details, a high Gloss Lacquer will be used to seal everything. They are currently resting on concrete stepping stones. A special simulated rock base made from concrete will be created for them in the near future.
