Angie certainly got a workout at “Dino Fest” Weekend see Oct. 5th posts “Dino Fest” Weekend – Day One Saturday Sept. 29th and – Day Two Sunday Sept. 30th. I let the brief rain help in preparing Angie for her first scrubbing. The Home Depot Buckets were put to use again. After an hour plus of scrubbing it was time to let the Sun and Morning Dew work on Angie for a few days.
Another going at it with the scrub brushes and Angie looked ready for Clear Coating. But I gave Angie one more detailing with the small brush just to be sure. The Clear Coating returned Angie to her Brilliant California Glow! I have to Thank All of the Kids & Parents that participated in sponge painting Angie. All Your Painting left a Rainbow of Colors that bleached through the Existing Paint! This left Angie with a Beautiful “Final Finish” that I could not have obtained without All of Your Efforts. Angie just loves her new look and sends her Thanks Too!
I hope You All understand Now why I said the Washable Water Base Paint Does Not Wash Out! I did contact the supplier to find out if there was anything that would improve your chances of getting it out of fabric. The response was 1st it depends on the type of fabric. 2nd it must be attended to immediately before it dries. And finally, the washable really applies to your skin & hair.
Last Saturday was my first time Volunteering for Readingtokids.org at the McArthur Elementary School in Los Angeles. I selected the 4th grade. The Book “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”. The theme was Halloween. Well what more Fantastic Beast is there than a Dinosaur? I wore a Skelton shirt and a backpack with a Baby T-Rex Skelton hatching from an Egg on Board. I took the Dinosaur Pumpkin I carved with the help of my Prehistoric Pals (see post October 12th “Preparing for a Dinosaur Halloween”).
The Kids and Adults loved it. One 4th grader insisted on carrying the Dinosaur Pumpkin for me to the Classroom even though it was very heavy for him. The Baby T-Rex about 3 feet tall would light up and make Dinosaur noises as its mouth opened and closed after you pushed the tiny red button on its neck. Surprisingly, many of the kids had not heard of Harry Potter – I know! So, we moved from the book to the draw your favorite Fantastic Beast rather quickly. My experiences with “How to Draw a Dinosaur” at my Library & Elementary School Readings came in handy. We drew Dragons, Billywigs and other Beasts from the Book. We were all treated to a Magic Show after the reading and craft. It was a Great Fun!
