Last Sunday We had a Potluck at the Park. Some of the Volunteers from “Dino Fest” brought Friends & Family. A long time Friend brought her Family & Many Friends too! Seven little ones had fun roaming the Park in search of the baby dinosaurs that left egg shells behind! As I mentioned in last week’s post, I leave egg shells in the yard. One little boy in a “Star Wars” t-shirt asked me “where the baby dinosaurs were?” I said, “They were hiding.” He responded that they had searched through all the bushes and couldn’t find them! I think the adults, I mean the “Big Kids”, were hoping to see some baby dinosaurs come out of the bushes as well. Dominic the T-Rex photo bombed the group picture below – center left.
We had salmon, chicken, brown rice, mashed potatoes, veggies, salads and chips. And of course, there were cupcakes, candy and wafer cookies. The youngest ones posed with 2 of the Raptors. Joshua wore a Raptor costume to make the Raptors feel more comfortable with the group. With Smiles like these the Sun will Always Shine! A number of the youngsters were very expert at naming All the different Dinosaurs in the Park. From the late Cretaceous Period 65 million years ago – Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops & Pachycephalosaurus and from the late Jurassic Period 146 million years ago Stegosaurus & Brontosaurus. Angie the Augustynolophus – also from the late Cretaceous Period – was the one they didn’t know. Everyone was very interested and Happy to know that Augustynolophus is California’s Official State Dinosaur! It was Great Fun for All!
I had placed the Dinosaurs that hatched from last Easters – “Growing Pet – Dinosaur Egg Kit” in a large Bowl of water. See posts March 24th & 30th 2018 “Dinosaur Eggs for Easter” & “Is there an EasTer Rex or EasteRaptor in Your Neighborhood?” They All started to Grow Again! Everyone was able to select a Dinosaur to take home from the bowl. May Your Picnics be as Fun!
