The Ceratopsian Family is Notorious for Wild Head Frills. Teresa’s will be no exception with some Great Color additions. Male Dinosaurs like Birds are suspected of having more “Brilliant Colors” than the Females. However, at the Park All Prehistoric Pals are “Brilliant”!
I started with masking two oval shapes on each side on the front of the Frill. I used a piece of cardboard to reduce overspray. Metallic Apple Red was my choice for the ovals. This treatment was repeated for the back side of the Frill. I use a large sheet of plastic to protect Teresa’s back from overspray while painting the back of the Frill.
I blended the Apple Red using and artist brush. Dipping the brush into the cap that I repeatedly sprayed a little paint. I created the purple rings around each red oval shape using the same method. This gives the illusion of large eyes. Teresa like Your Mother has Eyes on the Back of Her Head or Frill in Teresa’s case. So, She Always Knows What You are Up To! I added white to the eyes and some purple accents, as well. You’ll notice Teresa has eyelashes!
Did Dinosaurs have Eyelashes? My initial Bing search said “No”. But Secretary Birds, Hornbills and Nightjars have what look like eyelashes. The Secretary Bird’s being the most Beautiful. More research indicated these are Contoured Feathers with No Barbs. So maybe Dinosaurs had these since they are ancestors of birds. Would a T-Rex be less scary batting what looked like beautiful long eyelashes? If You were that close, I think You would be more worried about those Banana Size Teeth!
So, Eyelashes or Contoured Feathers with No Barbs – Teresa has them!
