We left Spencer aka “Spike” with ideas to add more color to his Sail. Cobalt Metallic was added to one side of the sail ribs and some spots. Still not loving it I tried the Hammered Light Blue to a couple of ribs and spots. In the end we decided less is more and refinished the Sail in Copper Rose Metallic. The metal has very nice designs that show just fine without adding any other colors. A few touch ups using the artist brushes, a coat of Clear Coat and Spike is ready to try out his perch.
It’s Spring and time for “Hatching Dinosaur Eggs” and “Dig It Up Eggs”! There are many Hatching Dinosaur Eggs to choose. I found mine on Amazon.com. Some have more realistic looking Dinosaurs than others. There are a few that let You know exactly what type of Dinosaur will popping out of the eggs and others only what might be in the eggs from a list. Read the small print and check out any images they provide to prevent disappointment. All you do is place the eggs in a container of water large enough for the eggs to expand and break open. It may take 24 – 48 hours depending on the brand. The dinosaurs will grow in the water. Then take them out to enjoy!
I have special Dinosaur & Pterosaur Glasses that came with my Welch’s jam & jelly. I’ve had them since the mid to late 80’s. There are some advantages to being millions of years old. They are a little small so as soon as the eggs start to crack open, I transfer them to a punch bowl.
The “Dig It Up” Dinosaur eggs are Great Fun! After a little soaking, use the plastic tool to excavate a Dinosaur from the Egg. These eggs come with a list of the Dinosaurs inside and a little information about each Dinosaur too! The Dinosaurs are hard plastic and nice renderings, but very small. Definitely for older kids & adults that don’t put everything in their mouths. We uncovered a Corythosaurus and a Spinosaurus from these eggs. What luck! Spike will be very Happy.
I’m always checking out books in the Library. “Descubre Dinosaurios” by Donald F. Glute is a Great book about Dinosaurs in Spanish. It maybe a little dated but has much relevant content. If You are learning Spanish what a fun way to study with a subject you can’t read enough about!
Next Week: More ways to Enjoy Decorating Eggs and the Eastersaurs. Spike is getting his Basket ready.
