The 36th Annual Imperial Owners Statewide is in Atascadero, California this year. I decided to take Kevin with me for the Adventure. Many people think of old cars as Dinosaurs, so a metal Dinosaur riding in a metal Dinosaur – what could be cooler than that? The Imperial, a 1960 Le Baron 4 door Southampton is our ride. After a thorough check up at the mechanic and a detailed clean-up by me, Kevin and I were ready to roll. Since the meet was in Atascadero, we had the opportunity to check out the Miner’s Hardware Stores on the way that have metal Dinosaurs available for Adoption. Kevin was excited that we might find New Friends to Join the Park. First stop Nipomo. Kevin didn’t get out of the car but enjoyed the view of the Garden Center. I visited with the T-Rex, two Triceratops, two Brontosaurs and the Stegosaurus that were snug in the bushes in Miner’s Gardens.
Next stop Los Oso. A Brontosaurus an T-Rex are awaiting adoption. Then on the way to the Morro Bay Miner’s we took some time out to see the Bay and Morro Rock. It was a great spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.
There are a couple of HUGE T-Rexes at the Morro Bay Miner’s one 9 feet tall and the other 10 feet tall, who Kevin enjoyed a nice chat. Charleen made our visit very pleasant and snapped a few pictures of Kevin with the Big T-Rex. There are a couple of Triceratops, a little Spinosaurus plus an Ankylosaur looking for new homes too! You wish you could give the little Ankylosaur a Big Hug but you can’t with All those Spikes.
Our final Miner’s stop in Atascadero resulted in some New Prehistoric Pals coming to the Park! Four Raptors are jumping at the chance, a Stegosaurus is swinging his tail in excitement to see the Park and a Brontosaurus that may need a little more convincing. One of the Raptors was enjoying a bath from an over flowing fountain.
