Stuart gets his primary colors Warm Yellow and Spring Green. Staring on his side makes it much easier to get Stuarts underneath areas. While the Yellow is curing, I apply the Spring Green to all that I can reach. After a couple of hours Stuart is dry enough to stand up. I need a ladder to finish the other side. (I don’t want to scuff the painting just completed, which is the reason for not waiting longer and laying Stuart on the painted side to finish.) The metal welds inspire were to begin and end with the two colors. However, I will come back with artist brushes to make a more natural meeting of the two colors later.
Sauropods are a very diverse group. You probably know Brontosaurus, Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus and Diplodocus. Brontosaurus – “Thunder Lizard”, Brachiosaurus – “Arm Lizard” (named due to the longer front legs/arms) & Diplodocus – “Double Beamed” (referring to the double beamed chevron bones in the underside of the tail, which were thought unique when this dinosaur was discovered) these were the first and only Sauropods I knew about for most of my life!
But are You familiar with Amargasaurus? with its double row of spikes along its neck and back believed to connected by sails? Or Saltasaurus? And its amour of boney plates? Shunosaurus? Swing that club tail with two spikes? And the Titanosaurs? The Largest of them All?
Below is link to Sauropod on Wikipedia. Check out the Cladogram by Sander and Colleagues from 2011. The Sauropods at that time had 37 branches in their Family Tree!

Back at the Park:
Christina our Mail Carrier likes Malcom the Mailosaurus. And Malcom likes the Netflix DVDs Christina delivers. He thinks they’re Strawberry Wraps. Yes, carnivores enjoy fruit once in a while.
Christina’s nephew loves Dinosaurs, well who doesn’t? Jacob apparently knows them all by name. So, Mario, Christina’s husband brought Jacob to the Park for visit and we quizzed Jacob’s knowledge of Dinosaurs. Adrianna & Risa nieces of Mario & Christina joined the Adventure. Jacob demonstrated his expertise of Dinosaurs & Pterosaurs. He knew All the names except for one. Angie the Augustynolophus. He knew she was a Hadrosaur, but didn’t know California has an Official State Dinosaur. Many are still making this discovery. What most impressed me is Jacob knew instantly Pamela is a Pachycephalosaurus. And pronounce “Pachycephalosaurus” as easily as if it was his own name! Oh, did I mention Jacob is 5! Jacob gets an A+ for his Dinosaur knowledge.
Can You pronounce Pachycephalosaurus? Ok now can You say it 5 times really fast? Jacob and Risa (3) pose with Jeffrey and Jerry the Velociraptors and with Raphael a Deinonychus while providing their Dinosaur Roar! Mario & Adrianna were camera shy. Or maybe just not as trusting with the Carnivores!
