However You Celebrate, Take Time to Relax and Enjoy the Smiles, the Glow of the Winter Lights, Seasonal Activities and the Time with Friends & Family! It can be a great time to make new friends, as well. Let Yourself see the Season with the Eyes of a Child filled with Wonder & Excitement. At the Park We are having Fun Decorating for the Season. We don’t have snow here so setting up the Winter Village is always a treat. It brings back fond memories displaying those special decorations made by relatives & friends of many years’ past. Maybe not Millions of Years as with my Prehistoric Pals, but perhaps before many of you were born.
This is the time of year when the weather keeps you indoors more than you may like. So, when the dinosaur within gets restless a craft maybe the solution. You can make Your Own Seasonal Decorations and what could be more fun than making Dinosaur Decorations?
“Make Your Own Paper Dinosaurs” by Sally and Stewart Walton is a Great Book to get started. Check with Your Librarian for other books to make paper Dinosaurs.
If You really want to make Your Dinosaur and are up for the challenge, look for “Make-a-Saurus My Life with Raptors and other Dinosaurs” by Brian Cooley & Mary Ann Wilson. Your Library is filled with a Wealth of Information – Check It Out!
The American Museum of Natural History in New York, New York has an Origami Holiday Tree! This has been a tradition of the Museum for over 40 years. It’s a beautiful sight. www.amnh.org
Of course, the Origami Dinosaurs, Pterosaurs and other Prehistoric Pals are my favorites! I wish I could see it in person, but I’m afraid I’ll have to plan a visit for a future display. OrigamiUSA volunteers create this incredible display each year. Visit their website www.origamiusa.org to learn more about the art of origami.
Happy Holidays!
You can still catch “Titanosaurs 3D” & “Antarctic Dinosaurs” at the Natural History Museum in LA
