We left off with the blending of the Gold Rush Metallic on Brison & Xavier. Now we blend the Hammered Deep Green. Artist Brushes dipped into the paint sprayed in the cans caps are the tools to perform this task. The platform truck is very helpful in raising Xavier to a level that makes the blending much easier. For Brison a few heavy-duty cardboard boxes under the Masonite boards did the trick.
I tried Hammered Verde Green on Brison to accent some details in the Metal around the eyes, on the snout, back of the head, back, top of the tail and to create an edging accent along the middle of the body. Having two Raptors of the sane design (but different poses) provided a great before and after comparison. We definitely don’t want to keep the middle of the body accent, or those on the back and tail. Still deciding on the back of the head, snout and around the eyes. But again, we think less is more and the details in the metal show just fine without the Hammered Verde Green additions. Therefore, they all will most likely be painted over. It’s always helpful to experiment with colors. You never know if an idea will be a wonderful improvement if you don’t try it out. The worst that can happen is you have to paint over it.
After the paint over is complete both will be clear coated and returned to their favorite spot in the Park – Raptor Range!
