Stegosaurs, Stanley & Stephanie return to where they first met for Romantic reflections. New discoveries are frequently made that reflect how flashy dinosaurs really were. Horns, Frills, Sails, Bright Colors & Feathers All to Impress a Mate. Valentine’s Day is clearly Every Day with Dinosaurs! Recently a Psittacosaurus incredibly preserved in the mud of a lakebed that is now the Jehol deposits of Liaoning, China provides new insights on Dinosaur Courtship. The nether regions of this Early Cretaceous primitive Ceratopsian has scales, skin & soft tissue fossilized. This is very unusual, other animals & insects generally eat away at the dinosaur after passing and decomposition destroys the rest. The mud in lakebed of the period completely covered this dinosaur and the lack of oxygen allowed it to be frozen in time. Jakob Vinther’s discovery and Robert Nicoholl’s reconstruction provides Scientists with more details of a Dinosaurs reproductive area than any previous find.

More about the Cupidsauroidea Family.
Cupidsauroidea or Cupidsauria a Family of Dinosaurs that developed Archery Skills named after the human Cupids by Paul Heinzman on February 8, 2019. First discovered at PaulsPrehistoricPark.com in January of 2019. Originally, only Velociraptors were thought to have this adaptation. However, this February Paul uncovered that T-Rexes, Spinosaurs, Pachycephalosaurs and even an Augustynolophus carried this trait! The Augustynolophus find is of particular interest as an indicator that perhaps non-theropods may have this feature, as well. This is of course Exciting News at the Park. Research will continue and we hope to publish more by next Valentine’s Day!
David the Tyrannosaur demonstrates his prowess with the bow by launching 3 of his Love Arrows. Check out posts February 8, 2019 “Raptor Cupids?”, February 7, 2020 “The Raptor Cupids are Back!” & February 6, 2021 “Cupidsauroidea!” for the making of the different sizes of bows & arrows.
There are many accounts for the origin of Valentine’s Day. One written account of Saint Valentine references his imprisonment by Rome for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and ministering to Christians persecuted by the Roman Empire. In the 14th Century in Geoffrey Chaucer circles it became associated with Romantic Love. In the 18th Century in England, it grew into a special occasion for couples to express their love by presenting flowers, candy and cards (known as valentines). Valentine’s Day is a Great Time to connect with Friends and Family. However You Celebrate, make it a Special Day for Sharing & Kindness.
Have a Happy Valentine’s Day!
