Xiuhcoatl the Undiscovered Dinosaur!
Artist Brushes assisted with blending the edges of Gloss Poppy Pink & Ivory for a more natural look. Gloss Gold Rush Metallic provides accents on the Head Feathers & around Xiuhcoatl’s Eyes. The Scales along her back and Divisions along the underbody receive Gold Rush Metallic highlights. Even Xiuhcoatl’s Diamond Tipped Tail of Turquoise receives an outline of Gold. And there will be more Gold in her future! Many legends speak of Dragons and their Caves of Gold, so it seemed fitting for Xiuhcoatl to have some sparkle too! Cobalt Blue Metallic provided the color for inside her Nostrils. These accents were applied using artist brushes dipped in paint sprayed into the can caps. Finer brushes made easier the work on the Head Feathers and details around her Eyes.
I completed my Dragon watercolor while waiting for Xiuhcoatl’s accents to dry. Check out Your Local Library for books on Drawing Dinosaurs & other Prehistoric Pals.
