The morning after the Acid Wash, it was necessary to rinse off the excess Acid Wash residue. A little Water with a small Scrub Brush and a Towel made quick work of it. After completely Drying, Calvin has a Verdi & Gold look. A look on the right Dinosaur I might keep! With a Clear Coat after some detailing of the eyes, mouth and claws could be very interesting. But that’s not the plan for Calvin. Rust Reformer is the next step. Followed with Rusty Brown Primer the next day.
The Primer needs 2 days to completely cure. Rust-oleum’s Universal Advanced Formula Metallic Paint & Primer in one “Copper Rose” is the choice for Calvin’s underside and upper body accents. Racing Green Metallic is the choice for his Upper Body and Mouth. Calvin’s True Colors are starting to Shine Through.
Still to Come: Details around the Eyes, the Tongue, Teeth, Claws and more accents of Copper Rose on the Upper Body.
A look at the Tyrannosaurus Family takes you back over 126 Million Years. Early Tyrannosaurs were smaller than humans reaching about 6 feet long, such as Dilong. Not until the Late Cretaceous Period about 67 Million Years Ago did the Huge Terrifying T-Rexes roam the Planet. Juvenile and Adult T-Rexes differed in size and looks. Being covered in hair like feathers the most noticeable trait. Feathers provided warmth & camouflage. An Adult described as having a mullet on head, neck and tail by the American Natural History Museum. Their skulls and bodies changed significantly as the grew, as well. A Group of T-Rex Fossils found at a bone site in Utah’s Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument by team of scientists suggest they were social animals. The largest T-Rexes discovered (so far) Sue & Scotty continue to provided researchers information on how these incredible animals lived.
