The Triceratops were in desperate need of a makeover. Teresa had never been finished and Paul’s & Christopher’s paint designs were completed in 2016. After some consulting with the Paint Specialist at the Local Home Improvement Center, I’m using brush on materials. Zinsser Cover Stain Primer which they tinted to match The Magic Wand Semi-Gloss Enamel. One of the primary colors to cover the Primer. First, I prepped all three of the Triceratops by dusting, wire brushing, a good wipe down with a damp towel and even a little vacuuming the inside of the legs and other places spiders might like. Placing them on their sides using a scaffolding of sorts to make it easier to reach the difficult underneath spots. Roller brushes made it faster to cover large areas and the regular brushes for those narrow spaces.
The primary colors for the Triceratops will be Behr’s Marquee Exterior Semi-Gloss Enamel in Magic Wand which is a light violet & Unimaginable a darker violet. The water base enamels are more Friendly to the Environment. Teresa will have more of the light violet with touches of the darker shade. Paul & Christopher will have more of the darker violet. This will be consistent with Birds where the males have brighter colors to attract mates. The Peacock is my inspiration for their makeovers. You’ll have to stay tuned for the addition of many more bright accents that might just make a Peacock a little envious!
Thank You Jatin Sindhu for the Magnificent picture of the Peacock
For Christmas the Prehistoric Pals gave me some books “Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Life” by DK Smithsonian, “Dinosaurs New Visions of a Lost World” by Michael J. Benton and Xiuhcoatl’s favorite “Mythic Creatures and the Impossible Real Animals Who Inspired Them” adapted from an exhibition by Laurel Kendall & Mark A. Norell with Richard Ellis and the American Museum of Natural History Exhibition Department.
The DK Smithsonian book is a great resource for Dinosaurs and all types of Prehistoric Life – animal & plant. Many of the early animals while very small I’m sure inspired the creatures in various SciFi Movies. The early plant life will provide inspiration for the landscapes for my artwork with our Prehistoric Friends. I’m anxious to spend a lot of time learning more about Mythic Creatures. The Most Recent Visions of Dinosaurs is a Wonderful Guide in my creating a New Look for each of the Prehistoric Pals.
