As I have mentioned before, I volunteer for www.ReadingtoKids.org check them out! The books for April 9th: Kindergarten – “Matter: Physical Science for Kids” by Andi Diehn; 1st Grade: “The Darkest Dark” by Chris Hadfield; 2nd Grade – “The Water Princess” by Susan Verde; 3rd Grade – “Iqbal and His Ingenious Idea: How a Science Project Helps One Family and the Planet” by Elizabeth Suneby. Learn about Solar Projects you could make from Household Items. 4th Grade – “Whoosh! Lonnie Johnson’s Super-Soaking Stream of Inventions” by Chris Barton. Whoosh! Is a truly enjoyable read. Learn about Lonnie Johnson an Inventor & former NASA Engineer. 5th Grade – “The Wild Robot Escapes” by Peter Brown, which I enjoyed very much. A great second installment on the Adventures of ROZ!
Whoosh! sent me to the attic to retrieve my 30 plus year old Super-Soakers. For many of you 30 years is probably Prehistoric. The Prehistoric Pals & I are having a Wonderful Time with the Super-Soakers! Charlie & Alan Cool Off Blue. Spike the Spinosaurus is ready for duty. Blue Too and Alan have a Splash Off. Blue Too & I have a little fun with Blue & Alan. Raphael & Blue Too mount a charge. Jerry & Jeffrey give Triceratops – Christopher & Paul a little rinsing.
Michael’s did a fine job of mounting my Posters and Scientific Labels on foam board to allow me to make an Exhibit with Essien the Spinosaurus. I picked up some double-sided stickers to attach the foamboard to the wall. I dusted, washed and allowed the wall to completely dry before attaching. Unfortunately, while I was attaching them to the wall they started to come loose. I pressed them back in place several times. However, shortly after I took the photos three fell to the ground. I immediately removed them all to prevent damage. Clearly, I can’t have the posters falling off the wall during a presentation. I’m looking into frame stands for the posters to be viewed on a table. The scientific labels can lay flat in front of them. This is probably a better solution for presenting to children & their parents too. In addition, having to remove all the stickers after each presentation for transporting home could damage the posters!
The Mamenchisaurus 1/35 scale by PNSO’s turned out not be in the Museum Series with the 20 posters like Essien. I returned the Mamenchisaurus and fortunately found Harvey the Iguanodon in PNSO’s Exhibit Series, which Michael’s is currently mounting all the posters. This will give me two different Dinosaur Exhibit Presentations to share.
