I believe a Mom T-Rex was searching for her young in the Park and took a bad step bringing down a significant portion of one of the Brazilian Pepper Trees. I didn’t she her during her visit, but I’m guessing it might have looked something like the above. I always try to make Lemonade when thrown lemons. Therefore, I left the main branches and trunk in place removing branches smaller than 6 inches in diameter. The result looks something like a Dinosaur Jungle Gym. This opened up the area a great deal. Fortunately, I have a Jacaranda Tree from a seedling growing in a gallon pot that will now have a prefect home to thrive.
In addition, I had 4 Asparagus Ferns in Pots that I had never really liked. They are prickly and a pain to prune the dead growth off. I found some Lace Ferns that can take Full Sun and a Tasmanian Tree Fern that can take Partial Sun. So, the Asparagus Ferns are compost. The new Ferns look more like the Prehistoric Environment too. The smaller temporary pots on the picnic table will keep them safe for now. Once planted in the large pots, these pots will keep the bunnies off Lace Ferns and I will need to provide protection for the Tree Fern (hopefully to be Tree Ferns). Sword Ferns are also a future consideration.
After cleaning up the Pots, inspiration again took hold of me. First, I painted them Spring Green for a base color. Next I will work on drawing concepts for completing fern designs with Dinosaurs emerging on one side and their tails trailing on the other.
Angie received some more finger painting with Orange & Yellow. Orange on the underside and inside the legs. Yellow on the outsides of the legs and on the Poppy Pink body stripe. Again I’m hoping a couple of weeks will be enough time for these paints to bleach in.
