With Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas we got off track with a number of projects around the Park. So, We left off with Pamela the Pachycephalosaurus in her primary colors – Morocco Red, Blazing Bonfire & Race Track Grey. Real Orange provides the punch around the eyes as well as a patch of Aubergine. The plastic eyes were originally green. After some scraping with a razor blade to remove the green, Real Orange was added for a brighter look. An additional coat of the Morocco Red and Blazing Bonfire were added late on one afternoon. Even though it had plenty of time to dry per the paint manufacturers recommendation, it ran anyway with the late night dew.
Hammered Black outlines the Mouth, Beak and were the Claws meet the Fingers & Toes. Hammered Grey provides some added details to the Beak, Claws & Horns. Hammered Silver takes care of the inside of the Mouth and helps extend the appearance of the Mouth opening behind the upper & lower Beak. Pamela’s Perch is also in need of some touching up after more than 4 years.
After freshening up Pamela’s Perch, she hopped on! Left over foam tubes from plumbing work years ago, add a nice cushion for Pamela. Ropes are used to secure Pamela in windy conditions. Anchor Bolts – 12 inch screw eyes secured with quikrete are where the ropes are tied. Like Angie, Pamela receives some finger painting to provide some more accents. A little Fun with Magenta! Like Angie we will give this water base color a few weeks to soak in. We’ll check back with Pamela then. The water base colors are also a great way to test out designs. If you don’t like it wash away. If you do, a more permanent paint can follow.
Kevin’s Perch is in desperate need of a make-over. Cory Katz of Turf Exchange in Camarillo, hooked us up with some Artificial Turf – an Excellent New Cushion for Kevin. Marc the Triceratops & Delores del Rio Dilophosaurus are having a little Fun with the Turf before we start fitting it for Kevin’s place. Artificial Turf is one Great Drought Solution. More on Drought Ideas, the Turf Exchange and the details for making Kevin’s New Perch Next Time. But you can check out the Turf Exchange today. I used watercolors to make Dinosaur Designs on my N95 Masks. I couldn’t get a yes or no from 3M regarding any impact this might have to the effectiveness of the mask. Many Museums sell Dinosaur Themed Masks Check them Out!
