Sasha Wishes Everyone a Big Happy Valentine’s Day. A word of caution regarding Dinosaurs and Valentine’s Day. If a Dinosaur gives You a Card that says “Be Mine” make sure it’s not from a carnivore. It could mean for their next meal!
We made some Valentine’s Day Cards with a Dinosaur Flare, of course. I like to use cardstock. It’s stronger than regular colored paper and can stand on its own. If you have trouble making your hearts the same proportions on each side, fold your paper in half. Using the fold as the center of your heart draw one half a heart. After cutting and opening both sides will be the same. That’s if you want them that way. Having them not perfectly symmetrical is fun too. I used regular printer paper to draw the Dinosaurs. I used pencil first than a pen to finalize the sketch. A knead eraser removes the pencil marks. Markers add color. I prefer watercolors but they take more time to dry when assembling the card. A little glue to hold in place. Stick glue is neater, but doesn’t always hold as well.
To make the Hearts for Sasha, I used a cardboard box. Folding the Cardboard of the box would make deep creases. So freehand was the way to go. I could have made a paper template, but Sasha and I agreed non-symmetrical would be just fine. Regal Red Spray Paint and 3 inch tall White Letters completed Her Valentine’s Day Greeting. Some wire helps Sasha hold the 3 Hearts. I use my decorations over again each year. Next year I might glue smaller hearts in White, Pink and other shades of Red to spruce it up. Decorations that lie flat are easy to store on a shelf or up against the wall of a closet. I have a walk-in closet that I use to store all the decorations for various occasions that I have made.
The Cupidsauroidea Family.
Cupidsauroidea or Cupidsauria a Family of Dinosaurs that developed Archery Skills named after the human Cupids by Paul Heinzman on February 8, 2019. Initially Paul discovered three of the Raptors at the Park having this trait aka Cupid Raptors or Cupidors by Paul. They shoot their “Love” arrows at Passersby bringing Joy and Happiness to All those in range. We could certainly use a lot more Love in the World. These Raptors thrive on Valentine’s Day.
Originally, only Velociraptors were thought to have this adaptation. However, in February 2021 Paul uncovered that T-Rexes, Spinosaurs, Pachycephalosaurs and even an Augustynolophus carried this trait! The Augustynolophus find is of particular interest as an indicator that perhaps other non-theropods may have this feature, as well. Research will Continue!
David the Tyrannosaur demonstrates his prowess with the bow by launching 3 of his Love Arrows all at once! I used Wisteria Vines for the Bows and Arrows. Colored String to complete the Bows. Red, Pink & Yellow Construction Paper make the Heart Shapes attached to the Arrows.
Stegosaurs Stanley & Stephanie return to where the first met for Romantic reflections. New discoveries are frequently made that reflect how flashy dinosaurs really were. Horns, Frills, Sails, Bright Colors & Feathers All to Impress a Mate. Check out “Dinosaurs New Visions of a Lost World” by Michael J. Benton for the latest on how we now believe many Dinosaurs appeared. Valentine’s Day is Every Day with Dinosaurs!
There are many accounts for the origin of Valentine’s Day. One written account of Saint Valentine references his imprisonment by Rome for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and ministering to Christians persecuted by the Roman Empire. In the 14th Century in Geoffrey Chaucer circles it became associated with Romantic Love. In the 18th Century in England, it grew into a special occasion for couples to express their love by presenting flowers, candy and cards (known as valentines). Valentine’s Day is a Great Time to connect with Friends and Family. However You Celebrate, make it a Special Day for Sharing & Kindness.
Happy Valentine’s Day

I used watercolors to make Dinosaur Designs on my N95 Masks. I couldn’t get a yes or no from 3M regarding any impact this might have to the effectiveness of the mask. Many Museums sell Dinosaur Themed Masks Check them Out!
